The Healing Modalities:

I primarily teach and support the application of:

Metaphoric Healing Techniques - using the power of the subconscious mind to enact the metaphors we set up to substantiate healthy biological functioning.  This approach is based primarily on the Process Healing method developed by Garry Flint, PhD. Garry is a Canadian psychotherapist who developed Process Healing for use with his patients.

Field Work - based on the work of Bert Hellinger, we explore our Family Field.  Unconscious yet powerfully influential generational family bonds have the power to entangle someone in a fate that belongs not to them, but to an ancestor two, three, or even more generations back. Such entanglements can result in psychological and physical illness and disharmony. When this previously unseen influence is revealed and acknowledged order may be restored and energy can flow freely.  I combine this technique with Metaphoric Healing, synergistically creating a powerful healing modality. The more you learn about fields — (bioelectrical currents), you'll understand, from a Field Theory perspective, that disease may be attributed to the actions or inactions of a previous member of your family.  Family Fields create powerful blueprints for our lives.  It is one of the blueprints we need to examine to see if it provides the foundation for a happy, healthy life, or sets us up for illness?  Once known, the blueprint can be changed.

Shock & Trauma - shock and trauma, and their affect on our lives is explained in detail.  Treatment of shock and trauma is accomplished mainly through Metaphoric Healing and Deep Regressive Work.  It is augmented by techniques I learned while studying with Dr. William Emerson of Petaluma, California.

Deep Regressive Work - is a physiological process for releasing trauma; it is a hypnotherapeutic technique we use to regress back to areas of "stuckness" and process the event to allow for the free flow of energy. When energy is stuck, illness ensues.  When energy flows freely, health ensues.  In regression, we access our body memories through the felt sense, and discharge the residual "instinctive survival energy" that we did not discharge at the time we incurred an injury or suffered a traumatic event.

Grounding  and The Human Energy Field - to restore health, we need to understand how important it is to be fully grounded with 100% of our consciousness contained in our body, vs. floating out in space, which is more the norm. We need to be "home" so to speak, or illness can move in.  We also need to understand the human energy field and its impact on our health and well-being.

Mind Work - We need to treat and fully respect the mind, just as we need to fully accept and treat every other aspect of our being.  One way to treat the mind is to let the mind ask its questions, allowing the heart to reveal the answers.  When the heart reveals the answers, the mind can finally rest, at home, in the heart.  When the mind is at home in the heart, resistance fades and heart healthy living begins.  When the mind runs amok, war ensues, both internally and externally.   Internal war results in our organs breaking down and malfunctioning.  Externally, when mind runs amok, we create conflicts large and small with our family, friends, co-workers, and other nations.

SelfAwareness Profile - To gain a greater understanding of who we are and of our strengths and weaknesses, we map our:

  • Character Structure - a term developed by Alexander Lowen (Bioenergetics) to describe certain physical and psychological types in people. Although we inherit our physical makeup genetically, how our physical bodies develop depends on our childhood experiences.  People with similar childhood experiences and child-parent relations have similar bodies.  People with similar bodies have similar basic psychological dynamics.  These dynamics are dependent not only on types of child-parent relations but on the age at which children first experience life to be traumatic, resulting in the unconscious blocking of feelings and, thus, of energy. To do this, children block the flow of energy through their auric fields and begin to develop a defense system that will become habitual throughout the rest of their lives — or until we change it! Since all illness is related to a negative relational experience, it is important for us to learn to interact with each other in healthy, healing ways.  The presence of illness is an indication that we are using the energetic system defensively and  blocking the free-flow of energy  When we learn more positive ways to interact with the world, energy flows and we create health.

  • Signature Strengths - are the strengths that are deeply characteristic of you — such as: persistence, curiosity, creativity, courage, kindness, love of learning . . .  We identify our core strengths and draw upon and strengthen them to affect healing.

  • The Enneagram - is an ancient system of personality types.  The Enneagram describes nine personality types, none better or worse than another, yet manifesting in recognizably and radically different ways of responding in the world.  The Enneagram fosters deeper insight into who we are, our potential, and how to attain it.  It provides a guide to understand our deepest wounding and how to correct it.  Our Basic Personality Type — developed not at random, but to protect a specific aspect of our essence, which was particularly vulnerable as an infant — can interfere with or support healing, depending on how we handle it.

  • Basic Behavior Patterns - we all tend to develop Basic Behavior Patterns, which either support or detract from our health, such as:  giving in, giving up, avoiding, being overbearing, being bitter, all of which keep us stuck; or on the positive side — powerful, real, honest, spontaneous. Acknowledging what Is helps us move out of stuck patterns into healthy, self-empowering ones.
